7 tips for getting an energy boost in the next 10 minutes

Energy dips throughout the day are inevitable, whether it’s powering through a Friday after a long week or battling those mid-morning and mid-afternoon slumps. Ideally, we’d all align our workdays with our natural energy cycles, dictated by our circadian rhythms, but that’s not always possible. When you need to get something done but aren’t at your peak, try one of these seven quick tips for an energy boost in the next 10 minutes.

  1. Go outside in the sunlight. Bonus points if you do this first thing in the morning.

  2. Go for a brisk walk. Even a 5 minute walk is enough to refresh.

  3. Listen to an upbeat song. I have a ‘mood booster’ playlist that’s my go to.

  4. Tackle an item on your to do list. That nagging task that’s been there longer than it should.

  5. Drink some coffee...and water. It will boost alertness, energy and focus.

  6. Stand up. If you have a standing desk use that or if taking a call, do it standing.

  7. Clean up. A clean and clutter free space will help you focus.
